Help keep our Township clean and protect our environment. Removing recyclables from our waste reduces amounts going to landfills and is less expensive than land filling. It takes 95 percent less energy to make an aluminum can from recycled aluminum than from virgin bauxite ore. Recycling an aluminum can saves 6 ounces of gasoline! Recycling a three foot stack of newspapers saves a 40 foot tree! Chatham Township provides residence pickup service curbside on the second Friday of the month. If you are a new homeowner in Chatham Township, and need a recycling container, a bin may be picked up at the Clerks office, 763-682-6151. Please use the receptacle for what it is intended. Have your recyclables out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. Materials that can be recycled are:

The following is a list of "Non-Recyclable Plastics". - Margarine, cottage cheese containers - Yogurt, pudding or fruit cups - Microwaveable food trays - Produce, deli and take out containers - Plastic wrap - Toys - Bakery product packaging Remember - these items are not recyclable. We will not accept these items.
The cost of this service is being paid through Township funds. The following items may be disposed of at the Wright County Recycling Facility, prices subject to change: White Goods: Stoves, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, water heaters, space heaters, microwaves, dehumidifiers, dryers, washers, heat pumps, furnaces, garbage disposals, humidifiers, trash compactors. Air conditioners and water softeners. Mattresses, box springs, stuffed furniture. Electronic items: televisions, computers, stereos, water softeners
